Our history
Camina is a non-profit association whose aim is to create bonds by means of art, notably dance, rhythm and the spoken word. We use our creative skills to bring about change in our community and to help us connect to ourselves, to others, to culture, and to the
the environment.
Our association was founded in February 2016 in Brussels by a group of people
with a passion about dance, music and culture in all its facets. The founders, originally
from Chile, Mexico, Italy and Spain, were soon joined by new friends from Belgium, Cuba, Argentina and Belarus. Together, they
deeply believe in the power of art to connect different worlds.
METHOD
From the very start of humanity, the triad dance, rhythm and speech has been used to connect to our surroundings, to nature, to animals, to other people and to ourselves.
Movement, rhythm and words are simple, yet powerful tools which encourage contact. Children are born singing and dancing. It is through physical, sensorial and emotional expression that we are able to communicate and bond.
These poetic and natural instruments help us explore these "5 dimensions": connection with ourselves, with each other, with the community, with culture and with the environment.
